Triathlete Louis Walker receives additional 18-month ban from sport

Triathlete Louis Walker has received an additional 18-month ban from all sport after breaching the terms of his current ban.

Louis Walker was issued with a three-year ban, effective from 27 September 2023, for the Use and Possession of a Prohibited Substance, namely clenbuterol.

In February 2024, UK Anti-Doping (UKAD) became aware of allegations that Mr Walker had violated the terms of his ban by participating in the Dewsbury 10k 2024 road race, a competition recognised by UK Athletics.

UKAD sent Mr Walker a Notice Letter, formally notifying him of these allegations. During an interview with UKAD, Mr Walker admitted to participating in the road race.

UKAD proceeded to charge Mr Walker with a violation of the prohibition against participation during a period of Ineligibility and issued him with an additional 18-month ban (effective from 26 September 2026).

Mr Walker’s ban will now expire on 25 March 2028.
